## Getting to grips with the Building Safety Act

The Building Safety Act (BSA) has far-reaching implications for everyone in construction.

This new legislation has been subject to ongoing evolution and misunderstanding within built environment forums. It’s critical our industry is exposed to the implications of the BSA and understands their responsibilities within the act to manage their business’ and contribute toward the provision of safer spaces, whilst demonstrating all buildings have been built safely.

### Understanding the Building Safety Act Training Courses

Our full and half day training sessions are suitable for contractors, consultant designers, key supply chain members and clients.

The aim is to enlighten organisations with the core principles of the Act by testing existing knowledge and providing simple facts for forward business and construction management.

 By the end of the course you will be able to:

- Demonstrate an understanding of the Building Safety Act (BSA)
- Share awareness with colleagues, clients, consultants and contractors
- Be able to define a High-Risk Building (HRB)
- Have a reference point to the relevant legislation and sources of further information
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of Duty Holders
- Identify the inherent responsibility of the accountable persons – Principal Designer  
  and Principal Contractor
- Follow and manage the new Building Control Process
- Have an understanding of the implications of the BSA during the construction phase with particular focus on Design and Construct projects
- Be able to identify Safety-Critical-Elements
- Understand the principles for managing Safety-Critical-Elements
- Understand how to identify the process to manage Safety-Critical-Elements
- Understand the importance and relevance of keeping digital records
- Understand the responsibilities for Golden Thread Evidence

Attendees will leave the workshop empowered with knowledge to apply in their given role. Each attendee will be able to confidently discuss the Building Safety Act with clients, consultants and supply chain partners, sharing knowledge and cooperating in the true spirit of the Act.
